Manos Kavvousanos

Hello there I am Emmanouil (or Manos for short)! I am a PhD Candidate in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Patras, Greece. My doctoral research focuses on advancing Neural Network (NN) applications in communication systems by developing efficient hardware accelerators. I specialize in the algorithmic and hardware co-design of NN solutions, optimizing for throughput, latency, and energy efficiency.

Alongside my academic work, I have gained professional experience as an R&D Machine Learning Systems Engineer at EdgeQ Inc., where I developed ML methods for 5G communication systems, and as an Embedded Systems Engineer at Loctio Inc., where I built embedded software for SDR devices. I have also contributed to several research projects funded by the Greek Government, the EU, and industry, with a focus on FPGA/SoC design, DSP algorithms, and RTL design.

I hold a Diploma in Electrical & Computer Engineering and an MSc in Hardware/Software Integrated Systems from the University of Patras. I am a recipient of a PhD scholarship from the Hellenic Foundation for Research & Innovation (HFRI), and I have authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed IEEE conferences.
